Hi again!
Last night, all of my dorm-mates arrived at the same time. Since I was the only one with a key, this was particularly chaotic, but everything worked out. :) Nick had arrived with the two girls who were going to Tuba City (the three of them were originally placed in Many Farms, but were offered different placements when Many Farms said they could not take any more students), so I went to the Monument Valley HS to pick him up. Our school road runs right into the MVHS road, but it's currently under construction, so we had to take the long way around through the old school grounds. However, as I was leaving our school (KCS), Linda and Janace were in the parking lot. I ended up giving them directions how to get to the back side of the dorms and went to go pick up Nick. It was great to see him, Emily, and Janelle after not seeing them since April. Seeing familiar faces in general after being on my own for 24 hours was also refreshing.
We came back to the dorm and got everyone moved into their rooms. We all sat and talked for a bit, and then headed to bed. Linda, Janace, and I all ended up talking for a pretty long time after we headed to bed. It was nice to have people in the dorm instead of being all by myself. :)
Today, Nick and I went on a little exploration of Kayenta. We went to the local grocery store Bashas', which is a store found in Arizona, comparable to how Indiana has Marsh. The prices and everything were comparable to Marsh, with a nice produce section, a bakery, deli, and butcher in-house. We shopped a bit, then just drove around Kayenta to see some of the sights. I think later this afternoon we're all going to try and see Monument Valley. It's only 40-ish miles away.
After we returned from Bashas' and brought in our goodies, we ate and talked and sat around for awhile. We also ended up going for a little walk around the campus, and got some pretty great photos of the beautiful rock formations just outside our backyard. I'm so excited to go see some more of the scenery!!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
