Day 1- Indy to OKC
Hello again!
Today was... interesting. It started out a little rough, with one of my brackets from my braces popping off about 30 minutes into our journey. Everything happens for a reason, and my orthodontist squeezed me in and got us back on the road before 9. We had a nice drive, with no incidents on the road. I drove so Russ couls sleep on the way, and we stopped in Lebanon, MO, meeting up with Russ' grandparents at the Shoney's. I had a delicious BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger... awesome road food. It was nice to meet his grandparents, and he was excited to see them twice in one year. :) After eating, Russ drove us from Lebanon, MO, to Checotah, OK. On
the way, we drove through Arkansas, which was quite
possibly the most beautiful place I've seen all year. It was nice and
green, with lots of hills/mountains covered in fluffy green trees. Checotah, OK, is the home of American Idol, Carrie Underwood. She even has a song about it. :) It was truly a "single stoplight town," "where 69 meets 40." After filling up in Checotah, I drove the rest of the way to Oklahoma City, where we are staying for the night. We found a nice hotel room with two big beds, one for each of us. Russ decided to order pizza, which is probably getting cold... I better go eat.
Tomorrow's plan:
Leave OKC around 9 AM,
Arrive in Albuquerque, NM around 5 or 6 PM.
I hope you guys are sleeping well, and have a great rest of the trip!
